Rebecca Weston, LCSW and JD lives in Brooklyn, New York and is a practicing clinician and Co-President of the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America. In this capacity, Rebecca organizes and provides support for climate aware mental health clinicians who seek to resource their skills in service of the climate movement and front and fence line climate communities and impacted professions. She speaks frequently about trauma-informed climate journalism, the mental health impacts of the climate crisis and the complex relationship between climate distress, climate disavowal and authoritarianism. In these conversations, she emphasizes the need to open compassionate space for people to engage their emotions, stay present with the crisis and step forward into action.
