Executive Director & CEO
Rewire News Group
Mallory Johns became Executive Director of Rewire News Group in December 2024, one of the only national nonprofit media organizations dedicated to reproductive and sexual health, rights, and justice—providing a vital source of reporting and commentary that informs, empowers, and drives systemic change.
Before joining Rewire as their new leader, she was the Head of Operations for B2C Transformation at the Associated Press. She was instrumental in executing the AP's direct-to-audience strategy, and leading the successful redesign of apnews.com. She also spearheaded the launch of a reader revenue program for the AP.
Prior to that, she spent half a decade at Vox Media where she drove growth strategies across the Vox Media Podcast Network, Vox Media Studios, and the company's e-commerce team.
In her free time, she is a classically trained pianist, avid runner, prestige TV binge watcher and podcast junkie. She lives in Brooklyn, with her husband and 3-year-old Bernedoodle puppy, Opal.
