Burt Herman is a journalist, entrepreneur and technologist who has spent two decades at the forefront of journalism's digital transformation. As co-founder and principal of Hacks/Hackers, he built one of the world's largest communities bridging journalism and technology, now leading crucial conversations around AI's potential for media. He co-founded Storify, a social media curation platform that established new standards for newsroom storytelling and was acquired by Livefyre and eventually Adobe. Burt began his career with The Associated Press, serving as a correspondent and bureau chief in Asia, Europe, the former Soviet Union and the U.S. He was part of the founding team of the Lenfest Institute for Journalism and held product leadership roles at Condé Nast. Burt's work spans startups, major media companies and nonprofit organizations focused on advancing journalism innovation through strategic adoption of new technologies. He was also a JSK fellow at Stanford University, where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees and was editor in chief of The Stanford Daily.
